On March 26, 2008 the Latter Day Singers were granted IRS 501(c)(3) status, meaning that we are recognized as a
tax-exempt, charitable organization. Any donations made to the Latter Day Singers is a tax-deductible donation. We
have been seeking this status for almost a year, and have had to delay our fundraising efforts until this status
was approved. On June 20, 2008 the Latter Day Singers will embark on our performance tour to sing for the Saints in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and at the Passion for Music Festival, an invitational, international music festival held in Oberammergau, Germany. We will be performing five times in a 10-day period. Four of these performances will be conducted for the Saints and their friends in Zurich, Bern, Salzburg, and Munich. The main purpose of our tour is to provide missionary and reactivation opportunities to the Church in these cities. These plans were set almost two years ago. Since that time the dollar has weakened significantly, the price of oil has increased dramatically, and many of our members are feeling the personal crunch of the oncoming recession. While we will do all we can to support ourselves in this endeavor, we need your help to make up the difference between what we can pay and what the costs will be. Those who donate will receive an year-end tax statement, and, if they want, we will list their name among our list of sponsors to the right. |
